Deputy Ali Ammar, a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, stated: “We are noticing in this period the emergence of internal voices from some Lebanese parties seeking to change the current election law, even though they themselves voted for it and approved it in the previous election cycle. However, for reasons and calculations that have become clear to everyone, they are now seeking to amend it.”
Ammar added: “We emphasize the need to maintain this law, as it is the current law in effect so far. And if the goal of some in raising this issue at this time is to disrupt or postpone the elections, or even extend the current parliament’s term, we clearly declare: we will not allow the postponement of elections or the extension of the current parliament’s term. We demand that the elections be held on time and based on the current law.”
During a ceremony held on the occasion of the martyrdom of Mustafa Ahmad Shehadi and his son Ali Al-Reda Shehadi, organized by “Hezbollah” in the Imam Al-Mujtaba complex in Saint Therese, in the presence of Deputy Amin Sherri, a group of scholars, activists, personalities, families of martyrs, and a number of residents, Ammar affirmed that “the difficult social and economic conditions that the Lebanese people are going through require the concerted efforts of everyone, and the government and its supervisory bodies must do their utmost to reduce the rise in prices and the exploitation of traders for the needs and rights of the people.”
