A delegation of members of Parliament, including representatives from the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc and the Development and Liberation Bloc, in addition to MP Jihad Al-Samad, met with His Excellency President General Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace.

MP Ali Hassan Khalil spoke on behalf of the delegation, explaining that “the discussion dealt with the election law that won consensus and was considered an achievement at the time, and we expressed to His Excellency the President that there are segments that cannot play their role, which hinders the most important principle, which is equal opportunities.”

Khalil also emphasized the importance of holding elections on schedule, saying: “We are keen to hold elections on time, and we hope that the government, when discussing the law, will note that this matter will lead to a major national rift.”

At the conclusion of the meeting, he stated: “President Nabih Berri is keen on the Parliament, and we will see tomorrow who is disrupting the work of the Parliament.”
