Sheikh Naim Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, made recent statements in which he expressed his complete confidence in the party’s leadership. He explained that the party consists of a Shura Council, leaders, Mujahideen, and a broad popular base, stressing that “the entire march of Hezbollah is solid and continuous.”
Qassem added that the achievements made in the battle of “Uli al-Ba’s” are collective achievements of the party, including its leaders, leadership, and Mujahideen. He pointed out that he refused to go to Iran during the war for ethical considerations and for the sake of the field situation and the management of the battle.
He said: “Resistance for us is a way of life and is not linked to tactical gains, and we will not give it up just to achieve a temporary goal.” He also stressed that Hezbollah represents a strategic project linked to a comprehensive vision and addressing the issues of the people, and that it is not ready to give in due to fatigue or exhaustion.
In the context of talking about qualitative operations, Qassem explained that targeting “Tel Aviv” was a carefully considered political decision, not just a field action. He pointed out that the military leadership was fully aware of the operation, and that the level of discipline and commitment in it was high. Regarding the targeting of the home of Israeli Prime Minister “Benjamin Netanyahu” during the war, Qassem mentioned that the strike was carried out based on accurate intelligence, and was aimed either at harming him personally or harming his home.
Qassem indicated that there were extensive discussions in the Shura Council regarding the ceasefire agreement with the enemy, considering this as conclusive evidence of effective political and military consultation within the resistance leadership at that time. He also mentioned that the strike that occurred on September 23, which resulted in about 1,600 raids and the martyrdom of 550 people, was an effective strike, and that targeting the leaders contributed to reducing the capacity and readiness of the opposing side.
Qassem concluded his statements by stressing that the party possesses sufficient power to achieve its goals, but it does not have “excess power.” Regarding the response to the assassination of Sayyed “Nasrallah,” Qassem affirmed that the response was made as necessary and within the available capabilities.
