US President Donald Trump stated on Monday that a decision on choosing a new head of the Federal Reserve Board may be made before the end of this year.
In a statement to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump clarified: “We will probably be making a decision on the Fed toward the end of the year.”
“Scott Bessent”: The Secretary of the Treasury stated: “We will conduct a second round of consultations, and we hope to submit a good list of candidates to the President immediately after Thanksgiving.” He indicated that the shortlist includes five names: Presidential aide Kevin Hassett, former Federal Reserve Board Governor Kevin Warsh, current Governor Christopher Waller, Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman, and BlackRock executive Rick Rieder.
