MP Hassan Fadlallah, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, affirmed that Hezbollah has always called for internal de-escalation and the avoidance of inflammatory rhetoric, stressing that the national priority today should be to protect sovereignty and rebuild in light of repeated Israeli attacks on the south.

During a ceremony honoring the martyrs of the town of Aita al-Jabal, Fadlallah stressed that “the blood shed in the south is Lebanese national blood, and the government must consider the issue of the south a comprehensive national issue,” criticizing what he described as attempts by some forces to “drag the country into internal disputes and exploit the results of the Israeli aggression politically, by seeking to amend the electoral law and enable expatriates to vote in violation of the current law, in a way that serves foreign interests.”

He considered that this endeavor constitutes “a coup against the law and the constitution and an attempt to change the internal balance of power,” stressing that pressure will not change the positions of the resistance and its environment, which “becomes more united and cohesive whenever the pressure on it intensifies.”

In a similar celebration in Safad al-Batikh, Fadlallah explained that the Israeli enemy seeks, through assassinations and the targeting of civilians, to keep the south in a state of anxiety and prevent reconstruction, considering that it is trying to achieve goals it failed to reach during the war.

He pointed out that “the equation has changed after the ceasefire, as the Lebanese state has become the concerned and responsible party for protecting its land and people,” calling on the government to “bear its full responsibilities through the ceasefire monitoring committee, and to exert diplomatic and political pressure to stop the attacks.”

Fadlallah concluded by pointing out that the priority of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement in the upcoming budget discussions will be to secure the necessary financial allocations to rebuild the demolished houses in the south, stressing that “the capabilities are available and the state must start work immediately.”
