The “Amal” Movement – Qanarit Division held a massive public celebration in the town’s Husseiniyah, commemorating the annual anniversary of its martyrs, in the presence of MP Hani Qubaisi, MP Ali Osseiran, the Central Organizational Officer of the Movement Youssef Jaber, the Organizational Officer in the Southern Region Nidal Hattit, along with the leadership of the Seventh Movement and Scout Region, families of the martyrs, and social and political figures.

The celebration began with fragrant verses from the Holy Quran recited by reader Hussein Ibrahim, followed by the Lebanese national anthem and the movement’s anthem. Afterwards, Muhammad Radwan Farroukh delivered a speech of introduction and eulogy for the righteous martyrs, followed by the Movement’s speech delivered by MP Hani Qubaisi.

During his speech, Qubaisi stated: “Today we commemorate a group of heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of God, defending the frontiers of the nation, and sacrificed themselves for freedom, sovereignty, and independence. We declare to the whole world: We are proud of our martyrs who gave the nation valuable lessons in defending homelands, sovereignty, and freedom, in the face of a fierce attack targeting the resistance, its message, and its approach. The resistance has offered thousands of martyrs until the liberation of our land was achieved thanks to the blood of the martyrs from all national resistant forces and parties.”

He added: “Unfortunately, some people these days are still unconcerned with the great sacrifices made by the resistance. We feel that there are external conspiracies being hatched against our country, through envoys and negotiators who impose conditions that affect the state and its revival, the existence of weapons and the resistance, its history and its present, and everything it has offered. They are setting conditions for surrender in Lebanon, as they tried to do in Gaza. And unfortunately, there is a segment of the Lebanese who adopt the same slogans and follow the same approach, as if they are not Lebanese. These newly created positions these days, which are related to internal political tracks, constitute a siege on the south, in addition to the daily Israeli attacks. There is an internal siege from some Lebanese parties, through their positions and their pursuit of gains at the level of positions and others, whether through the electoral process or otherwise. They are seeking to form an internal siege in addition to external threats, and this is something we categorically reject. It is shameful that Israeli slogans are repeated in our country on the tongues of some Lebanese leaders and politicians. Israel is demanding the withdrawal of weapons, and some Lebanese are also demanding its withdrawal – what a unified slogan carried by the enemy and the friend!”

Qubaisi continued: “Our problem is not with the strength of Israel, but with the weakness of some Lebanese and their abandonment of their cause, their homeland, and their mission, and therefore of defending the south and not adhering to the sovereignty of the state. Sovereignty begins through the martyrs, and sovereignty begins from the border strip with occupied Palestine. Unfortunately, we feel that there is an internal movement that constitutes a siege on the political approach of the resistance. Every day we hear new slogans through changing entitlements and laws through which they want to seek control over state institutions to say we have nothing to do with the resistance and its weapons. Everyone is present in the institutions, parliamentary blocs and the government, and therefore, by proposing to change the election law, they claim their concern for the expatriate and his vote, they want to change the law not out of concern for the expatriate, but it is a race to obtain a larger number of votes in order to form a majority in the parliament and the government to stand against the resistance, its policy and its sacrifices and say that this country must go to other understandings.”

He continued: “Israel is exerting pressure through its attacks, with the aim of dragging Lebanon into direct negotiations, and President Berri has stated: There is no place for this directly with the enemy, but through a committee that has been formed. If Israel is pressing to establish its language and policy on our country, then why this internal revolution against the people of the resistance and its approach and message? Is it harmony or is it a convergence of interests? Both of which are a problem that does not respect the sovereignty of the country and does not respect patriotism.”

Qubaisi concluded by saying: “What is required is a free and correct position from all political poles in Lebanon, to form a real unity that enables us to confront the Zionist enemy, and not to confront each other.”
