A post by MP Jamil El Sayed circulated widely on the “X” platform, commenting on a case that occupied public opinion.

Mr. El Sayed began his post by referring to the verdict issued against former French President “Sarkozy,” stating that he “entered prison today for 5 years, for receiving financial support from Gaddafi for his presidential campaign in 2007!”

Then, Mr. El Sayed moved, in a tone not without bitterness, to address the situation in Lebanon, saying: “Here, a president, minister, MP, judge, officer, director, party leader, governor of the Bank of Lebanon, etc… takes money from abroad and steals from the state, and instead of being ashamed and shutting up, he gives lessons in patriotism and integrity!”, in a clear reference to widespread corrupt practices.

This post comes as a reaction from Mr. El Sayed to the ruling issued by the Paris Criminal Court against “Nicolas Sarkozy,” which stipulates his imprisonment for five years, two of which are mandatory, against the background of the Libyan financing case for his electoral campaign, a ruling that is considered the first of its kind in the history of the French presidency.
