Globally, the Democratic Republic of Congo topped the list, according to the Global Mining Contribution Index, issued by the International Council on Mining and Metals in its seventh edition.

The report’s results showed an increase in the contribution of the mineral sector to the economies of some countries, especially Congo and Sierra Leone, as a result of the high prices of all minerals extracted in these two countries, in addition to increased production and the high contribution of minerals to exports.
