More than a thousand members and ranks in the Internal Security Forces suffer from a pending situation after being assigned to State Security, as they are administratively affiliated with the Internal Security Forces but are deprived of the incentives of their colleagues. Lawyer Ashraf Al-Moussawi appeals to those concerned to settle their financial and administrative conditions.

More than a thousand members and ranks of the Internal Security Forces live in a state of disarray and ambiguity, following their attachment to the State Security apparatus. Despite their organizational affiliation with the Internal Security Forces, they completely lack the benefits and incentives enjoyed by their colleagues, under the pretext that they have been transferred outside the scope of the directorate.

This current situation, which can be described as injustice and unfairness, prompted them to appoint lawyer Ashraf Al-Moussawi to follow up on their administrative and organizational affairs. He affirmed to “Lebanon Today” that he had reviewed all concerned parties, but no solution has been found to settle their situations so far.

He explains that there are approximately one thousand members in the security forces who were transferred years ago to State Security to work with political figures and in the courts, but administratively and organizationally they are still subordinate to the Directorate of Internal Security Forces.

Lawyer Al-Moussawi appeals to the Prime Minister: Nawaf Salam, the Minister of Interior: Ahmad Al-Hajjar, and the Director General of the Internal Security Forces: Major General Raed Abdullah, to give justice to these members and settle their financial situations in line with their colleagues in the Internal Security Forces.

Al-Moussawi draws attention to the fact that this appeal comes after the feeling of deprivation that afflicts these individuals as a result of withholding all incentives from them, despite the fact that they are organizationally affiliated with the Internal Security Forces and that their personal cards are issued by this directorate, which was confirmed by the State Security Directorate when reviewing them in this regard. However, the surprising thing is that the Internal Security Directorate considers these individuals to be affiliated with State Security, which creates a state of loss and confusion in their situation, bearing in mind that they still receive their salaries from the Internal Security Forces, and also enjoy medical coverage through it as well.

Al-Moussawi believes that there is a clear defect in this matter that requires immediate treatment. Therefore, he appeals to Major General Abdullah to settle their conditions and equalize them with their colleagues, with the aim of giving them justice and correcting this existing defect.
