Iranian Supreme Leader Responds to Trump’s Statements Regarding Iranian Nuclear Capabilities

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei denied statements made by former US President Donald Trump, who claimed that the United States had succeeded in destroying Iranian nuclear capabilities through strikes targeting nuclear sites inside Iran.

In a comment via his account on the “X” platform, Khamenei wrote: “The American president proudly proclaims that he bombed the Iranian nuclear sector and destroyed it… Well, keep dreaming!”

This response comes against the backdrop of statements by Trump in which he indicated that the strikes on the Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan facilities “significantly weakened the Iranian nuclear infrastructure,” while Tehran affirms that its strategic infrastructure remains intact and that some facilities “returned to operation within hours.”

This war of words reflects an escalation in tension regarding the Iranian nuclear file, in light of military operations and reports exchanged between the two sides regarding the actual damage inflicted on the nuclear program.
