Mutual Warnings and Escalation of Events in Gaza Amid Fears of Ceasefire Collapse.
Amidst the army’s announcement of firing on militants allegedly crossing a specific zone in the Gaza Strip, new warnings have been issued by Israeli officials towards Palestinian factions.
An Israeli official emphasized the need for any individual from the Palestinian factions to immediately withdraw from the prohibited area, holding the factions’ leadership responsible for any incident occurring there.
The same official had previously threatened that the factions “will pay a heavy price,” following a series of raids on the Strip, especially in the Rafah area, stressing their determination to protect their forces.
In contrast, Palestinian factions denied any connection to the clashes that occurred in Rafah.
Various areas in the Strip, including Rafah, the northern Strip, and areas in the center, witnessed airstrikes resulting in casualties, raising concerns about the potential collapse of the ceasefire agreement reached earlier.
The Israeli army later announced a return to implementing the agreement, while renewing the warning against approaching the prohibited area, while shelling renewed on the outskirts of other areas in the Strip.
It should be noted that the prohibited area, which was agreed upon through international and regional mediation, extends across various areas in the Strip, with the Israeli army withdrawing to this area under the agreement, while retaining control over a large part of the Strip’s area, and warning against approaching its forces’ positions.
