Goodbye to Rainfall Scarcity… Good News for Lebanese Regarding the 2025-2026 Season!

Warm air masses originating from North Africa are dominating the Eastern Mediterranean basin, due to the Azores High covering Libya, Egypt, and Algeria, which facilitates the expansion of warm waves from the Sahara towards Lebanon and the region. As a result, autumn weather will remain mild until the end of next week, according to weather specialist Father Elie Khneisser.

Khneisser explained that “Lebanon will witness a gradual decrease in temperatures at the end of October, coinciding with the deviation of the Indian monsoon low towards India, to begin the activity of the subtropical high over the Arabian Peninsula, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan.”

He pointed to the increasing number of hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean, confirming that the western regions of Europe are facing devastating floods in Spain and Italy due to Atlantic lows and storms, noting that these conditions may herald a good season for Lebanon, Turkey, and Greece at the beginning of next month.

He added: “Positive indicators have begun to emerge for a good season, both in terms of the activity of polar currents heading towards West Asia and Eastern Europe, and in terms of the abundance of Atlantic lows towards Southern Europe. However, it remains necessary to monitor the movement of air highs in our region until the end of the month to confirm the expectations of winter 2025-2026.”

Regarding the weather on Sunday and Monday, Khneisser indicated that it will be warm and mild during the day, autumnal par excellence, and turn cold at night in the mountains and inland, with the situation stable until the end of next week.

As for the expected temperatures, they will be as follows:

Coast: 28 during the day and 22 at night

Mountains 1200 meters: 24 during the day and 15 at night

Bekaa: 25 during the day and 14 at night

Mountains 2000 meters: 18 during the day and 10 at night
