The Importance of Educating Displaced Children and Its Positive Impact, Emphasizing That This Measure Is Temporary and Humanitarian.

Education is a fundamental human right, guaranteed by international conventions and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and to which the Lebanese state is committed under the treaties it has signed.

Exceptions related to this file were issued by a decision of the Council of Ministers with all its members, reflecting the government’s awareness of the importance of educating displaced children.

The presence of a displaced child in school is much better than them staying at home, which officials have realized. Some of the objections that have emerged are not based on sound logic and do not achieve any practical benefit. The issue is essentially humanitarian, ethical, and educational.

This measure is a temporary solution linked to an emergency crisis, and does not aim to consolidate any permanent situation, so there is no need for all this unjustified concern.

The return of the displaced to their homeland remains a top priority, and work must be done to achieve this by strengthening and correcting Lebanese-Syrian relations.
