Lebanon rejects normalization and any security agreements with Israel, while emphasizing the right to self-defense. Damage estimates do not exceed $6 billion, and Hezbollah enjoys widespread popularity in Lebanon.
Informed sources confirmed that Lebanon categorically rejects any form of normalization with Israel and cannot accept any security agreements with it. This position comes in light of the emphasis on rejecting any direct negotiations with Israel, while pledging to confront it by all available means.
The sources stressed that Lebanon refuses to open any channels of negotiation with Israel, except for what was previously done in terms of indirect military negotiation through the Lebanese state, as happened in the maritime border demarcation file. They warned of the possibility of Israel resorting to escalation at any moment, stressing Lebanon’s full right to defend itself in the event of any aggression.
Regarding the extent of the damage resulting from the bombing and reconstruction, the sources indicated that the maximum cost of the damage does not exceed $6 billion, considering that talking about $14 billion is a great exaggeration and inaccurate.
In a related context, the sources pointed out that Hezbollah enjoys widespread popularity in Lebanon, and that some may forget this fact and deal with it incorrectly. They explained that the party cannot be considered a traditional party, pointing to the broad popular mobilization that shows its extension and influence within Lebanese society.
