Heikal presented with the Commander of the Irish Defense Forces ways to strengthen relations between the armies of the two countries
The Commander of the Army, General Rudolph Heikal, received, in his office in Yarzeh, the Commander of the Irish Defense Forces, Major General Rosa Mulcahy, at the head of a delegation, and the discussion covered the general situation in Lebanon and the region, in light of the current developments, and ways to enhance cooperation relations between the armies of the two countries, in addition to the role of the Irish battalion operating within the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon – UNIFIL.

General Mulcahy laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldier Monument in the courtyard of the Ministry of Defense, in the presence of the Army Commander and a number of command officers.
