A 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck the Indonesian province of Papua on Thursday, according to the US Geological Survey, but no tsunami warning was issued and no immediate reports of damage were issued, according to Agence France-Presse.
The US Geological Survey said: “The epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred at approximately 14:48 local time (05:48 GMT), was about 200 kilometers from Jayapura and at a depth of 35 kilometers.”
