Cameroonian voters voted on Sunday, in elections in which current President Paul Biya, 92 years old, who has been in office for 43 years, is expected to win.
While Mohamed Salah was preparing to celebrate at Cairo International Stadium the Egyptian national team’s qualification to the 2026 World Cup, a photo spread showing him in the electoral register of the polling station in the town of Ngaoundre, north of the Adamawa region in central Cameroon.
The German network Deutsche Welle reported that Salah’s picture appeared on the official website of Elekam, the body responsible for organizing the elections, and after verification, it was found that the account registered in Salah’s name was using the username “Azert Qsdfg”, which is just the first five letters of the first two lines on the computer keyboard in French.
The data also showed that the user’s date of birth does not match Salah’s date of birth. The fake user was born in August 1985, while Salah was born on June 15, 1992. (Arabic)
