
Trump became the oldest person to assume the presidency of the United States upon his return to the White House in January, and he is the second-oldest person to ever hold the office.
Trump intends to travel to the Middle East on Sunday after his role in mediating an end to the conflict through the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
However, Trump’s health has become the focus of increasing attention, especially a year after former President Joe Biden abandoned his candidacy for a second term in 2024, amid questions about his physical fitness to take office.
Trump’s performance contrasted with Biden during the presidential campaign last year, and he portrayed himself as younger and fitter.
The White House said that Trump will go to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, a hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, famous for providing its services to presidents, to undergo a “routine” annual examination, in addition to holding a meeting with soldiers and delivering a speech to them.
This visit comes only six months after he underwent a comprehensive physical examination.
